Towards A Tokenized World: Article Proof of Origin

Our peer review system for research is one of the most precious things we have in academia. It supports the integrity of the peer-review process, and where researchers help refine papers to their best possible level or reject those that are flawed or contribute little. But our existing publishing infrastructure is fairly archaic, and where we still use methods derived from a time of printed paper.

Currently, our world is slowly moving towards a tokenized world, and where even research papers can be tokenized, and where we can trace their progress through their lives. The starting point must thus be the proof of origin, and which is created whenever a paper is published. I am thus so happy to be a co-Chief Editor of the Blockchain in Healthcare journal, and which is the first to introduce a blockchain sourced proof of origin [here]. The proof ends up with:

It uses the Hedera Token Service [here] to create both fungible and non-fungible tokens and which do not need smart contracts for their creation. In the example above, the paper gives a SHA-256 hash value [here] of:

2bcce71407ee25878a4256f5e7a84c3fd0d3b7d5f316ae810fbf50b98be2fecb (SHA-256)

and which has then been signed, along with the following metadata:

And which can be checked with QR code and where we can see the token created on 27 April 2021:

We see the birth of a new world, and which introduces tokens in a way that we used to transact with pieces of paper. I must say, it is a real privilege to work with such smart people as Tory Cenaj [here], and who has driven this innovation forward.
