PBKDF2 key derivation
[OpenSSL Home][Home]
PBKDF2 (Password Key Derivation Function 2) is a key derivation method. Overall it is relatively slow in its operation and where we take a password, a salt value, hashing method, and a number of iterations, in order to produce a given size of encryption key.

Command: openssl kdf -keylen 32 -kdfopt digest:sha512 -kdfopt pass:Hello -kdfopt salt:NaCl123-kdfopt iter:3 PBKDF2 Password: Hello KDF: PBKDF2 Salt: NaCl123 Hash: sha512 Iterations: 3 Digest size: 32 69:E1:3D:5C:23:9C:1B:52:42:90:E2:A1:3E:22:A0:0F:C2:87:08:BA:CE:B7:9A:93:8A:2B:B5:5A:5A:AF:34:80
